Rainy-Day Reflections · Campus Tool Finally, RUC Timetables Can Live in Your Calendar A free, open-source Chrome / Edge extension. Log into the academic system, click once, and your entire semester's schedule lands in your phone calendar. Free and open source Chrome · Edge About one minute to install

This Is It Not a complicated 'system'—just a button that ought to be there. On the academic system's 'View Timetable' page, click the extension icon to read your timetable and generate QR codes.

At the start of every semester I do the same thing: open the academic system, screenshot the timetable, and then find some way to put it on my phone. Otherwise I keep checking the system to see what classes I have today, and when I see a course name I have to spend ages remembering which floor it is on... So I turned that little task I repeat every semester into a browser extension: RUC Timetable → Calendar.

One click, and your phone takes over. The extension converts the timetable to a standard ICS calendar file and shows two QR codes: Android: scan to download the .ics file, then open it in a calendar app to import. iPhone / iPad: scan and choose 'Subscribe to Calendar' directly.

It Doesn't Just Shove a Table into the Calendar It Understands an RUC Timetable

01 Odd and even weeks, no longer left to memory A class marked 'odd weeks / even weeks' appears only in the corresponding weeks. No more pointless trip in week three. 02 Class periods automatically become accurate times Periods 1–2 run from 08:00 to 09:30; periods 13–14 from 19:40 to 21:10. Two-period, three-period, and cross-block classes all get the right duration automatically. 03 Classroom abbreviations become addresses a map can understand 'Lide 407' becomes 'Room 407, Lide Building, Renmin University of China'; Mingde Basement F, the main hall of Shiji Gymnasium, and Mingfa 0402 are mapped too. 04 Your phone reminds you 15 minutes in advance No need to keep class times in your head, especially for scattered classes.

Get Started in a Minute Four steps to put your timetable in your calendar 1. Log into the academic system and open 'View Timetable'. 2. Click the extension icon in the browser toolbar. 3. Confirm the date of Monday in week one and the total number of weeks. 4. Click 'Read Timetable and Generate QR Codes,' then scan with your phone. Changed classrooms, dropped a class, or revised timetable? Generate it again and scan the code again.

You Don't Have to Take My Word for It How is privacy handled? The timetable is parsed in your own browser using your own login session. The server receives only course names, times, and classrooms—not your name, student ID, or password. The generated link consists of 16 random characters and is automatically deleted from the server after three days. The code is open source; feel free to audit it directly.

For Curious Students: This Isn't 'Screenshot to Calendar.' The extension parses a timetable table whose cells may be rendered repeatedly and may stack multiple courses. It deduplicates by 'weekday + normalized text'; nine courses and 14 time slots in a real timetable can generate 80 calendar events. Thirty-three tests cover locations, times, odd/even weeks, and the ICS format.

RUC Timetable → Calendar For the new semester, hand your timetable over to your calendar. The illustrated installation guide and extension download are here: sch.agenttrust.site GitHub: github.com/KerryChia/ruc-schedule-extension

This extension is not affiliated with Renmin University of China and is provided solely for students' convenience.
